Celebrate International Coffee Day – A Global Tribute to Your Favorite Brew
Waking up for many of us doesn’t start with the alarm clock ⏰, but with the unmistakable aroma of freshly brewed coffee. On October 1st, the world comes together to celebrate International Coffee Day – a day dedicated to the drink that kickstarts our mornings.

I am a passionate coffee lover and have shared my experiences on the blog before, highlighting my favorite cafés in Florence and Rome, where espresso and cappuccino are an art form.
Where is Coffee Grown?
Today, coffee is cultivated in massive quantities across the Caribbean, Central and South America, India and Asia. Legend has it that it all began with a single coffee tree brought to Martinique by a French naval officer, which later became the foundation for coffee plantations throughout the Caribbean and the Americas.

Modern coffee grows within the “Coffee Belt”, roughly between 25° north and 30° south of the equator – the perfect climate for coffee cultivation.
Coffee Culture Around the World 🌎
- Ethiopia: the birthplace of coffee, with traditional ceremonies where freshly roasted beans are served in three rounds. Refusing a cup is considered almost an insult.
- Turkey: coffee should be “black as hell, strong as death, and sweet as love.” Poetry in a cup.
- Sweden & Finland: the “fika” – a sacred coffee break with sweets, an essential part of daily life.
- Naples: the “suspended coffee” tradition – pay for two, keep one for yourself, and give one to someone in need.
- Unique coffee varieties: Kopi Luwak from Indonesia, partially digested by civet cats – strange, but intriguing!

Why I Love Coffee
For me, coffee is more than a drink: every morning it offers a moment of pure enjoyment, helping me start the day calmly. Sipping a perfect espresso or cappuccino allows me to savor the quiet morning while my thoughts settle. Coffee offers an experience in every cup, whether I’m exploring local cafés in Florence or Rome, or enjoying a quiet morning at home with my favorite mug.

Celebrate with Us!
On October 1st, raise your cup of espresso, flat white, or americano, and remember the millions of people whose passion brings coffee to your cup. International Coffee Day is more than a date – it’s a moment to pause, enjoy coffee, and celebrate one of the world’s most beloved beverages.
